UNITED STATES — No, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not dead. Spikes in searches for “is Dwayne Johnson dead,” “did Dwayne Johnson die,” and “Dwayne Johnson death” track a familiar celebrity death-hoax pattern, not an official report of his passing.
Johnson remains active in Hollywood. In September 2026 he has been publicly discussing a major weight cut for Benny Safdie’s upcoming film Lizard Music, with production underway in Atlanta—clear evidence he is working, not deceased.
Why the rumor spreads
Fake “RIP” posts and recycled hoax pages have targeted Johnson for years. Fact-checkers have repeatedly rated those claims false. This week’s search surge fits the same cycle: unverified social posts, then panicked “is he alive” queries.
Bottom line
There is no credible news organization reporting Johnson’s death. Treat viral “Rock dies” posts as hoaxes unless confirmed by his representatives or major outlets. As of this writing, he is alive and filming.
