UNITED STATES — Dwayne Douglas Johnson—billed for years as The Rock—is an American actor and former professional wrestler whose name is trending again on the back of film news and a wave of “is he dead” hoax searches.
Johnson was born May 2, 1972, making him 54. He stands about 6-foot-5 and built his first fame in WWE before becoming one of Hollywood’s most reliable box-office leads.
Career snapshot
After a brief NFL path and University of Miami football, Johnson rose in wrestling, then crossed into film with the Mummy franchise and a long run of action and family hits. He also produces through Seven Bucks and remains a major social-media presence.
Net worth and personal life
Published estimates of Johnson’s net worth vary by outlet and year; treat round numbers as approximations, not audited figures. He is married to Lauren Hashian and has children; those details surface whenever “who is Dwayne Johnson married to” trends alongside the death-hoax noise.
