Washington, September 19, 2026 — President Trump announced that all 50 states will join a program providing Most Favored Nation pricing for some Medicaid drugs. The administration calls the plan the Medicaid “GENEROUS” model and says it will save billions on prescription costs.
Last year Trump signed an executive order aimed at matching the lowest international prices. The White House has claimed large potential savings, though independent analysts note that the fine print will determine real results for patients and taxpayers.
